Jess is an experienced teacher having taught tap dance, contemporary and jazz technique to learners in Further Education, Higher Education, Schools and community settings for over 15 years. She taught tap dance and contextual studies at the Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts (LIPA) between 2005-2010. She delivered a range of BTEC modules at The Manchester College (2004-2006) and New College Nottingham (2014-2019) where she was also the course coordinator for BTEC Level 3 Dance.

Jess has coordinated community tap dance initiative Tap Rhythm Project which has delivered community tap dance activities for adults and young people in Nottingham and Manchester since 2006. Her teaching style integrates elements of music theory and technique to explore different grooves, helping participants to find their own style of rhythm making and improvising. 

Jess has delivered Continued Professional Development to teachers and educators on projects such as Discover Dance for Dance4 National Dance Agency designing cross curricular activities for secondary school learners that utilised dance to teach core subjects such as Maths, Science and Geography. She has shared her own creative practice at events such as Tap Dance Festival UK delivering seminars and teaching studio sessions about key aspects of teaching and learning.
